Top MLW Star Injured At Fusion TV Tapings

Alexander Hammerstone is believed to have suffered a knee injury during his match against Matt Riddle at Saturday night’s MLW Fusion TV taping at Center Stage in Atlanta, according to PWInsider.

The injury is believed to have occurred when Hammerstone pump-kicked Riddle’s fist into the ring post during a spot on the outside. PWInsider reported that the promotion made the call to end the match after the injury, but Hammerstone pushed to continue.

Hammerstone was able to walk backstage after the match but was visibly in pain, per the report.

There is no word yet on the severity of the injury or how long Hammerstone could be out of action. MLW has not issued an official statement.

Saturday’s taping was a sold-out event that continued MLW’s two-year sellout streak at Center Stage. The show also featured Shotzi, KUSHIDA, Teddy Long, CONTRA Unit, The Skyscrapers (Bishop Dyer and Donovan Dijak), The Good Brothers, Okumura, Titan, and the MLW debut of luchadora Kira.

Hammerstone is a former MLW World Heavyweight Champion and one of the promotion’s top stars. He is a three-time MLW World Heavyweight Champion and has been a cornerstone of the roster since 2019.

MLW’s next event takes place on April 12 in Charleston, South Carolina.

We wish Alexander Hammerstone a speedy and full recovery.
