Chris Jericho turned the pro wrestling world on its head once again when he attacked Tetsuya Naito to continue their feud that he started shortly after Wrestle Kingdom 12. But now that Y2J’s next New Japan feud was set in stone and solidified by blood, all they needed was a time and a place.
Jericho recently announced that the match is official for June 9th against Naito at New Japan’s Dominion event. This will be a match that could capture huge interest and praise in the process because only time will tell just what these guys are going to pull out on each other.
With Jericho still performing at the top of his game and able to work a New Japan event every now and then it could stand to reason that this might be his real pro wrestling gig outside of Fozzy from now on. Of course, you can never rule out a WWE return for a one-off appearance but if he comes back to WWE he obviously wants it to mean something and he doesn’t have much free time nowadays.
But the attack on Naito after Wrestle Kingdom followed by another recent bloody and brutal beatdown served to tell an amazing story for Y2J in NJPW which was obviously enough for another match.
