NJPW could be losing one of its top stars should they opt to test out free agency. This is a usual occurrence as the promotion renews talent deals starting in the middle of January.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reports that current IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion David Finlay will have his contract expire soon. Sources noted in the promotion that they expect Finlay to remain with the company.
The same sources stated the promotion had expressed interest in keeping him. Finlay has been used as a top star in the company in recent years and has been the leader of the War Dogs for over the last year.
Finlay vs. Yota Tsuji is on tap for Wrestle Kingdom 19 this Saturday. Finlay meets AEW’s Brody King the next day at Wrestle Dynasty in a singles bout.
