Former WWE star to make NJPW Strong debut later this month

Former WWE star Lio Rush has found his groove as of late by not only competing for NJPW but also MLW.

NJPW recently announced cards for the next two weeks of NJPW Strong. Rush is slated to make his debut on the program on Friday, January 29. He’ll do so by teaming up with TJP and Fred Rosser to face KENTA, El Phantasmo, and Hikuleo in the main event.

Rush suffered a first-round loss to El Phantasmo during last month’s Super J Cup. He recently beat Myron Reed to win the MLW World Middleweight Championship at Kings of the Colosseum.

Rush was released by WWE last April due to budget cuts related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Here is the full card for the January 29th edition of NJPW Strong:

Six-Man Tag Team Match:
Lio Rush, Fred Rosser, and TJP vs. KENTA, El Phantasmo, and Hikuleo

Singles Match:
Chris Dickinson vs. Rocky Romero
