This morning on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer gave an update on the status of Jeff Cobb.
Cobb, who has been one of the biggest free agent names available this year, appears to have signed with New Japan Pro Wrestling.
Meltzer noted that Cobb has told people that he has signed a contract with a company but he hasn’t said who he signed with but since he is entering the G1 Climax, that pretty much confirms that he is now full-time with NJPW.
Cobb’s goal was always to work for New Japan with Ring Of Honor being a stepping stone to his destination. There was interest in him from All Elite Wrestling and WWE and he made a couple of appearances for AEW but it looks like he will be calling NJPW home for the foreseeable future.
