Jim Ross took to Twitter to clarify any rumors or misconceptions about his departure from AXS TV.
Ross said that his departure had nothing to do with NJPW or AXS TV. His contract ends at the end of the year and he is legally not able to negotiate a new deal. Ross will not be calling the action for Wrestle Kingdom 13 on AXS.
For those of you that haven’t been following the story, the reason why JR has not signed a new deal for 2019 is because he is still under contract with WWE. Up until now, they didn’t have an issue with him continuing his duties with AXS TV but that has changed and he is not allowed to negotiate a new deal until his WWE contract expires.
JR is under contract with WWE until the end of March. He will be a free agent after that time.
