Things got more interesting for IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley and his title defense at the NJPW Dominion on June 9.
The other bouts for the card include Best of the Super Juniors 31 finals, NEVER Openweight Champion Shingo Takagi defending against HENARE, NJPW World TV Champion Jeff Cobb defending against Tomohiro Ishii, Provisional KOPW 2024 Champion Yuya Uemura defending against Great-O-Khan, and IWGP Tag Team & NJPW Strong Tag Team title elimination match with KENTA & Chase Owens vs. El Phantasmo & Hikuleo vs. Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI vs. Mikey Nicholls & Shane Haste.
Moxley recently scored title eliminator wins over Konosuke Takeshita at AEW Double Or Noting and Rocky Romero on Wednesday’s Dynamite.
In an interview in kayfabe, EVIL proposed a new stipulation for their title match at the show, which was a lumberjack stipulation. Moxley has not accepted it, nor has NJPW made the stipulation official.
As of this writing, it’s still unclear who Moxley will face at the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view event in late June.
