Jon Moxley vacates IWGP US Championship

Jon Moxley is no longer the IWGP US Champion under the NJPW banner.

He was supposed to defend the title against Juice Robinson in a No DQ Match at the NJPW King of Pro Wrestling event on Monday. However, due to Typhoon Hagibis hitting Japan, Moxley was among wrestlers who couldn’t make it to the show. This led to NJPW making some adjustments to the card.

The title was vacated and Robinson vs. Lance Archer in a regular title match was booked that saw Archer win the contest and the title.

As of this writing, there’s no word yet on Moxley’s next appearance for New Japan Pro Wrestling but he is still under contract with the promotion.

He beat Robinson earlier this year to win the strap. He’ll face Kenny Omega at the AEW Full Gear PPV event next month.
