Michael Elgin calls Jon Moxley NJPW’s “new toy”

Despite only being in the promotion for less than a week, AEW star Jon Moxley has had a big impact in NJPW.

In his promotional debut, Moxley beat Juice Robinson to win the IWGP US Championship on Wednesday at the NJPW Best of the Super Jr. Finals at Sumo Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

It didn’t take long for him to get his second match booked as he’ll take on Shota Umino in a singles match that will serve as the opening contest of the NJPW Dominion event that is slated to take place June 9th, 2019 in Osaka, Japan.

While doing a recent interview with Wrestling Inc, current Impact Wrestling star Michael Elgin, who had previously wrestled in NJPW, gave his take about the way that Moxley has been pushed in NJPW.

“No, not at all…New Japan has always been very like, ‘Oh, here are our new toys. Let’s play with them!’ So, once I heard Jon Moxley was going, I knew what was gonna happen. So, it wasn’t really a shock to wake up to that news,” stated Elgin.
