It looks like the wrestling landscape will change in 2021 with another major promotion getting a TV deal in the United States.
Dave Meltzer reported today that New Japan Pro Wrestling is very close to an English-language TV deal and an announcement could come at any time.
NJPW was previously on AXS TV but that deal ended in 2019 when Impact Wrestling’s parent company Anthem Sports and Entertainment a majority share of AXS TV. AXS TV also had the Women Of Wrestling promotion but those shows ended earlier this year.
There’s no word on what TV network would pick up NJPW but this gives them an outlet to promote shows in the United States.
