NJPW announces date for Jon Moxley vs. KENTA match

Jon Moxley hasn’t been able to wrestle for NJPW since February 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic as he’s the current IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion.

However, the AEW star made an appearance on Friday’s edition of NJPW Strong where he attacked KENTA. Now, NJPW has confirmed when this title match will take place.

Moxley will put the title on the line against his rival at the New Beginning USA 2021 event on Friday, February 26. The promotion also confirmed the February 19 and February 26 editions of NJPW Strong will be New Beginning USA episodes.

NJPW films the episodes in California and airs weekly on NJPW World.

The AEW star will also appear on NJPW Strong’s Road to The New Beginning USA next Friday to further promote the match. KENTA became the number one contender to Moxley’s title by winning last year’s New Japan Cup USA tournament.
