NJPW Is Reportedly Interested In A Former WWE Star

A former WWE talent has had talks with NJPW and could be one of its first signings of 2025.

Baron Corbin, aka Tom Pestock, confirmed last week that he is officially a free agent after having his WWE contract expire. WWE opted not to renew his deal. As previously noted, Pestock was at AEW Worlds End visiting friends in Orlando last month.

After a successful NXT stint, WWE called up Corbin to the main roster in 2016. There, he found further success and was consistently booked under Vince McMahon. Corbin is a former Money in the Bank, King of the Ring winner, and former United States Champion. He was also a former two-time NXT Tag Team Champion. Corbin later went to NXT, where he had undergone a few different character changes. In 2024, he was called up to the main roster, although the company didn’t do much with him there.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reports NJPW has shown interest in Corbin. It was said that both sides have been in contact, but they weren’t sure how deep those talks are.
