New Japan Pro Wrestling star KENTA has called for a match against former WWE Champion CM Punk.
KENTA made his promotional debut at the NJPW Dominion event in Osaka, Japan. This comes after it was reported that he asked and received his WWE release in February.
At the time of his departure, it was believed that Itami was looking to return home to Japan and potentially back to Pro Wrestling Noah where he previously worked.
A fan on Twitter commented about a dream match between KENTA and Punk. This led to KENTA responding with, “I want to have [a] match versus CM Punk.”

A match between the two stars would make sense as they use the same finisher but it’s not likely to take place considering Punk has expressed no interest in returning to pro wrestling.
Punk is scheduled to be at Starrcast during AEW All Out weekend later this month.
