Two big matches announced for NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 15
Two top matches have been announced for NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 15.
On Saturday morning at the Power Struggle event, it was announced that Kazuchika Okada is slated to wrestle Will Ospreay. NJPW did an angle where Okada defeated the Great O-Khan via referee stoppage. After the match, Ospreay issued a challenge to Okada, who accepted.
Ospreay cut a promo about how he used Okada to get more popular, and it worked. He noted that he wanted to end Okada’s career. They have been feuding since last month when Ospreay turned on Okada following their G1 match.
In what will be the likely main event of Night 2, Jay White will face Tetsuya Naito for both the IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental Championships.
At Power Struggle, White beat Kota Ibushi to win the G1 contract that will grant him a double title match. What’s interesting is the fact that this is the first time that the Wrestle Kingdom contract briefcase has changed hands.
The event takes place on January 4 and January 5, 2021 and will be limited to 20,000 fans due to the COVID-19 pandemic at the Tokyo Dome.
