Will Ospreay vacates IWGP World Heavyweight Title due to injury

Will Ospreay has been forced to vacate the IWGP World Heavyweight Title because of a neck injury.

NJPW announced the news in a statement posted on their website. Ospreay suffered the injury during the second night of Wrestling Dontaku. NJPW stated he will return to the United Kingdom for rehabilitation, but no timetable is set for his return.

NJPW will make an announcement regarding what’s next for the title at a later date. Ospreay held the belt for just 46 days as he won it from Kota Ibushi at Sakura Genesis on April 4th.
