NJPW officially announced on Tuesday that The Young Bucks will compete at the upcoming NJPW Resurgence event on May 9th. An eight-man tag team match is set, pitting Gabe Kidd, David Finlay, Clark Connors, and Gedo against The Young Bucks and two mystery partners.
When issuing their challenge at Windy City Riot a few days prior, The Young Bucks teased that their partners would be “some OG buddies.” Now, fans know who they were referring to.
The announced card for the event also features Konosuke Takeshita defending his NEVER Openweight title against ELP, Tomohiro Ishii defending his Strong Openweight title against Drilla Moloney, and Mercedes Mone defending her Strong Women’s title in a three-way match against AZM and Mina Shirakawa.
The Strong Openweight Tag Team titles will also be on the line, with the World Class Wrecking Crew defending against Templario and TJP. Additionally, Fred Rosser will face Matt Vandagriff, and Allan Breeze will compete against CJ Tino in a Strong Survivor match.
The Resurgence event is scheduled to stream live on NJPW World from the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California, on Friday, May 9th.
