Stu Bennett: “I would be amazed if NWA puts on a show in the rest of 2020”

Stu Bennett (former WWE star Wade Barrett) was interviewed by Chris Van Vliet this week.

Bennett discussed his WWE run, the future of the NWA, his movie career, a return to wrestling, Nexus and much more. Bennett doesn’t think that Billy Corgan will run another NWA show this year because of the pandemic.

He said, “I would be amazed, and this is not coming from anyone in management, I would be amazed if NWA puts on a show in the rest of 2020 just based on how all of this stuff is spiking right now. I just don’t think it’s going to be safe for the rest of the year for anyone to be putting on a show or having the crowd there and all that stuff. Do not take my word for it, at the end of the day it’s Billy Corgan’s decision, but I would be surprised if anything comes in 2020.”

Bennett said that Corgan sees the fans an integral part of the NWA show so that is why they are not doing shows in an empty building. Bennett also said that when he was first approached about working for the NWA, they wanted him in the ring but that was not in the cards right now.
