Bryan Danielson: Raja Jackson Incident “Seems Pretty Irresponsible On A Lot Of Different Levels”

AEW star Bryan Danielson has weighed in on the recent controversial incident involving Raja Jackson, the son of MMA legend Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, calling the situation “pretty irresponsible on a lot of different levels.” Speaking to Josh Mansour on UNSCRIPTED, Danielson commented on the viral clip that showed Raja legitimately knocking out independent wrestler Syko Stu at a KnokX Experience event and then delivering over 20 unprotected strikes to the head.

While Danielson admitted he did not have the full context of what happened, he did not hold back in his assessment of the in-ring actions. “I’ve seen the clip. I have no context for what actually happened. It seems pretty irresponsible on a lot of different levels,” Danielson said.

He went on to note the importance of professionalism in the wrestling ring, even when personal animosity exists. “I have been in the ring with people who, we don’t necessarily get along, but there is professionalism. I will say this, and this is not a defense of what he did, I don’t think Rampage’s son is a professional wrestler. I don’t know who (orchestrated it). There is a certain degree of professionalism you have to have to call yourself a professional wrestler, and that’s not it.”

Raja was later arrested and booked on a felony charge for the incident. The in-ring attack was preceded by a confrontation outside the venue where Syko Stu smashed a beer can over Raja’s head. According to reports, Stu believed the two were “working” and was surprised when Raja did not sell the move. After a conversation with the promoter of the event, the two men appeared to have reached an understanding and shook hands before the match. However, what transpired in the ring was far from a professional wrestling contest, as the planned spot went too far.
