Cody Rhodes defended the IWGP US Title against Joey Ryan in a thumb war


Joey Ryan's third and final attempt to capture the IWGP United States Championship happened on Sunday night at World Series Wrestling's event in Sydney, Australia.

For those of you that haven't followed along, Ryan and Cody Rhodes faced off in a staring contest on Friday night. They met again on Saturday and it was a rock, paper, scissors match. Ryan was unsuccessful on both nights.

As you can see below, Sunday night's contest was a thumb war. Ryan tried mind games on Rhodes by shoving a lollipop in his mouth but Rhodes was able to win the war to retain his title.
