Colby Corino has confirmed his commitment to the NWA, explaining that he has “unfinished business” with the promotion. In an interview with Sean Ross Sapp, the second-generation star revealed why he opted to re-sign rather than test the waters of free agency.
Corino noted that the NWA provides the right environment for his current life stage, balancing his in-ring career with his responsibilities at home and his other wrestling ventures. “So as we went, we were able to talk and come to an agreement that works with everybody. Honestly, I just feel like my work in NWA isn’t done,” Corino explained. “The NWA gives me a place that I’m able to grow or with the, with the people around me and also be able to support my family.”
Injury Update And Return Timeline
Corino has been sidelined since July following emergency neck and back surgery. He provided a positive update on his recovery, noting that while he isn’t back to full strength, he is making significant progress in the gym. “Every day it gets a little bit better. I’ve been trying to go back to the gym. I’m still not 100% full strength yet, but I’m not limited from doing anything in the gym.”
While a specific return date hasn’t been set, Corino is optimistic about getting back in the ring this year. He predicted a 2026 return for his fans. “I am on track healing and I surely need a little bit more time… But I think I can definitely say you’ll see Colby Corino, wrestling a match in 2026.”
