Cris Cyborg’s Bellator contract leaves door open for potential wrestling crossover

Earlier this week it was revealed that former UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cris Cyborg signed with Bellator MMA for the largest contract of its kind in women’s MMA history. It’s a multi-year, multi-fight contract.

This is after her contract with the UFC expired and she became a free agent. As a result, it has reunited her with Scott Coker, who is the Bellator MMA President and former Strikeforce President.

There was a special clause in this contract as her agent Audie Attar of Paradigm Sports Management told ESPN that the new deal allows her to compete or perform in other combat sports ventures.

The agent added that it leaves the door open to crossing over into things like boxing or pro wrestling “if the right opportunity presented itself,” Attar said.

Cyborg was spotted at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida in late January.

She has expressed interest in potentially wrestling and has eyed a match against Ronda Rousey due to them never fighting in the cage.
