David Arquette battled through wrestling return with two fractured ribs

Former WCW World Heavyweight Champion David Arquette made his return to the world of professional wrestling earlier this month for Championship Wrestling from Hollywood in California. He suffered a defeat to RJ City after a back-and-forth affair that saw Arquette hit a Diamond Cutter at one point in honor of WWE Hall Of Famer Diamond Dallas Page.

Arquette wasn’t at 100 percent for the bout as it turns out. He recently took to Twitter and revealed that he actually battled through with two fractured ribs. He posted the following photo form a hospital bed along with the explanation:

Arquette’s claim to fame in the world of professional wrestling came in 2000 when he co-starred in the film “Ready To Rumble.” The film was based on a fictional WCW World Champion named Jimmy King who Arquette’s character, Gordy, and his best friend Sean help get back on top of the WCW mountain.

Soon after the film’s release Arquette was brought in by WCW for TV and participated in storylines. He eventually won the promotion’s World Title but WCW was soon bought out by WWE in 2001, bringing his professional wrestling career to an end for the time being.

Arquette is already set to make another professional wrestling appearance soon, as he has been announced as an official Guest Superstar for the Starrcast convention outside Chicago during “All In” weekend:
