Matt Cardona defeated Nick Gage at GCW Homecoming (Night 1) to win the GCW World Championship thanks to help from RSP, who had teased aligning himself with Gage. At one point during the match, Chris Jericho’s “Judas” theme played but it was a swerve and a hooded figure attacked Gage.
Cardona was covered in blood after both men took light tube shots. Both men also took bumps through glass in what was definitely Cardona’s most brutal match ever.
After the match, fans threw beer, soda and water bottles in the ring. Cardona took off with his title through the crowd as the show ended in a chaotic scene.
