Marcus “Buff” Bagwell has turned his life around recently after battling demons and struggles with addiction that caused him setbacks.
Bagwell made a name for himself in WCW after breaking into the business in 1990. He held the Tag Team Titles five times while with WCW until they closed their doors in 2001. He was part of the NWO from 1996 to 1999.
While with WCW, he also brought in his mother for appearances on television, including the infamous “Judy Bagwell on a Forklift” match at New Blood Rising 2000. She was also a former WCW Tag Team Champion alongside Rick Steiner in 1998.
He had a brief stint in WWE in 2001, including the infamous match with Booker T that caused Vince McMahon to nix relaunch plans for the WCW brand. In later years, he worked in the independent wrestling scene.
On Saturday night, Bagwell and Big John Dalton won the Memphis Wrestling Tag Team Championships once they beat Lord Gaston and Sir Matthew.
This was Bagwell’s first match since October 2022 at WrestlePro Alaska Back With A Bang.
Can the Buff Daddies make history??
