The XFL is set to kick off in 2020 and potential players might already be on the Vince McMahon-fronted league’s radar. Perhaps some professional wrestlers, who often have football backgrounds, could be interested in playing in the league.
One of those wrestlers is former WWE star Gene Snitsky. Snitsky is a former football player for his alma mater, the University Of Missouri. He also had a brief stint in the Canadian Football League for the Birmingham Barracudas. After his football career was up, Snitsky transitioned into professional wrestling.
He signed with WWE back in 2003 and was released in 2008 upon his request. Snitsky worked the independent circuit for the next decade but announced his retirement this past summer. Recently, Snitsky said he’ “seriously” considering trying out for the XFL in an Instagram post.
Snitsky is currently 48-years-old. Here’s what he had to say on Instagram:
“Seriously considering trying out for the @xfl ”
