Former WWE star and current New Japan Pro Wrestling star Yoshi Tatsu is still hospitalized with a halo screwed to his head due from injuries suffered from a Styles Clash in his match with AJ Styles last month. Tatsu announced that he had two broken bones in his neck from the match with Styles. Styles told Dave Meltzer this week that he felt really horrible about what happened. Tatsu has been giving updates on his twitter accound and has gone through bouts of depression. At one point he tweeted “I wanna die.”
Many wrestlers and office personnel have visited him in the hospital and the word is that he is recovering faster than doctors thought he would have. AJ told Meltzer that he was not happy about Adrian “Lionheart” McCallum posting on Facebook that he should stop doing the Styles Clash. Styles felt that McCallum should have contacted him personally. AJ said that he’d like to get the Calf Killer over as his finisher but the booker in New Japan calls the shots as far as who wins and what finisher to use. To be fair to AJ, he’s done the move probably thousands of times and there have only been a few cases where a wrestler was hurt taking the move. I think there may be less than 5 guys that have been hurt taking the move.
Yoshi thanked fans on twitter yesterday for all of their support. His tweets are in Japanese but you can use Google Translate to read them. You can follow him on there at @yoshitatsuism.
