GCW sells out the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City

Game Changer Wrestling is set to make its debut at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City with its”The Wrld on GCW” event on January 23rd.

The promotion announced that they will have a sellout crowd for the event. GCW noted in the announcement, “H I S T O R Y #TheWrldOnGCW is officially: *SOLD OUT* The biggest crowd to ever witness wrestling in the Hammerstein Ballroom awaits. Long. Live. GCW.”

The event will air on FITE TV. No matches have yet to be announced, but it’s been confirmed AEW’s Eddie Kingston will be in action on the show.

GCW is also set to hold an induction ceremony at The Cutting Room in New York City for the inaugural class of its Indie Wrestling Hall of Fame the night before the show.

Those to be honored include Jerry Lynn (inducted by Sean Waltman), Homicide (inducted by Chris Dickinson), and Ruckus (inducted by Sonjay Dutt).

Dave Meltzer noted in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the show sold 1,828 tickets out of 2,025 on the first day. After the second day, the event was sold out. While the promotion claimed the show will be the largest crowd ever in the building, ECW and ROH did sell out the venue did sell out several times.
