The death of El Hijo Del Perro Aguayo has been picked up by several major media outlets including the Associated Press. The AP noted that an investigation for the possible manslaughter of Aguayo has been opened.
ESPN in Mexico is reporting that the CRASH promotion in Mexico will be covering the funeral costs. Aguayo, Sr. has not been told yet of his son's passing because he is not in great health and there is concern over how he will handle his son's passing.
As noted earlier today, Aguayo passed away early this morning during a match in Tijuana where he teamed with current TNA star Manik against Rey Mysterio and Extreme Tiger at the CRASH independent wrestling event. "It makes me very sad because he was a professional colleague and I have great affection for his father," Hijo del Santo said. "I think the fans in Japan, the U.S. and Mexico of course, where he was very popular, must be in mourning, especially because of his youth. He had much ahead of him."
