As noted last week, Mike Tenay will be working with TNA as a television personality and will no longer be the lead announcer on the show. Josh Matthews will fill that role. Tenay has agreed to a new deal with the company. Jim Ross called John Gaburick and it’s believed that he also called Dixie Carter to pitch the idea of letting him call the Tokyo Dome show next month. Ross said that they would plug TNA in exchange. TNA turned the idea down.
Tenay’s deal is for one year. That would seem to indicate that Jeff Jarrett is not close to getting a TV deal for Global Force Wrestling since Jarrett would have made an offer to bring in Tenay as the lead announcer if he was expecting to close a TV deal.
