John Morrison Forced To Shave Head Following CMLL Loss

Former WWE and current AEW star John Morrison, competing under his new ring name Johnny Consejo, lost his hair in a Lucha de Apuestas match against Ángel de Oro on Friday night. The match served as the main event of CMLL Viernes Espectacular at the historic Arena México in Mexico City.

The rivalry between the two stars ignited rapidly following a four-way match on February 20, where Consejo pinned de Oro. In a subsequent promo, de Oro expressed that he could not allow a “foreigner” to disrespect his country or the promotion. During an interview with Más Lucha leading into the bout, de Oro explained the personal stakes of the wager, saying, “I can’t lose. If I lose my hair, people will lose faith in me.”

The finish of the contest saw Ángel de Oro deliver a frog splash to secure the pinfall victory. Following the loss, Johnny Consejo initially resisted the hair-cutting stipulation, refusing to allow the official to proceed. De Oro responded by delivering a superkick to the former Intercontinental Champion, after which the official was able to fully shave Johnny’s head in front of the live crowd.

Johnny Consejo has been a regular star for CMLL since late January 2026, often appearing alongside Mansoor and Mason Madden of the MxM Collection (known in Mexico as MxM TV). Morrison, who has used numerous aliases including Johnny Nitro, Johnny Mundo, and Johnny Impact, is also signed to AEW, where he performs under the name Johnny TV.

As part of the match stipulation, Johnny is booked to compete bald at Saturday’s Arena Coliseo card, where he will face Ángel de Oro and Esfinge in a three-way main event.
