Jonathan Gresham is returning to the ring. Game Changer Wrestling has announced that the former ROH World Champion will return to action for its Jersey Championship Wrestling show on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Melrose Ballroom in Queens.
GCW broke the news on Monday regarding Gresham’s participation in the upcoming event. “JON GRESHAM makes his return to the ring on February 1st for GCW & @JerseyCW’s SuperPower Slam!”
This return marks a significant milestone for ‘The Octopus’, who faced a severe medical emergency less than six months ago. In early August 2025, Gresham revealed that he had woken up unable to use the left side of his body and was struggling to talk. He was taken to the hospital, where he was told he had suffered two strokes.
At the time, Gresham noted he would be taking time off to recover, stating, “I will be back soon”. His last match prior to this hiatus took place at GCW Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIV on August 2 in Rutherford, New Jersey, where he lost to Pete Dunne.
The SuperPower Slam show is a charity event designed to raise funds for the Little Oaks Center for Neurodevelopment. The center provides resources, services, and therapies for neurodivergent children and their parents.
In addition to Gresham, the card will feature a star-studded lineup including Paul Walter Hauser, Matt Cardona, Mance Warner, Man Like Dereiss, and Effy. Hauser is also scheduled to defend his PROGRESS Proteus Championship against Mad Dog Connelly at the event.
