IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada recently spoke with Strait Times about his career and more. During the interview, he was asked how he came up with his ‘Rainmaker’ moniker. Okada said that he heard the word ‘Rainmaker’ and it means one particular star who could make a company or project rich and successful so he thought it would be a really good concept, so he took that idea to become the ‘Rainmaker.’
Many fans might not know this, but he donates money to charities after every win. Okada stated that the reason he does this is because his uncle suffered from cancer, so he decided to start this fund to give back to society, which is pretty cool.
When asked about his goals for other NJPW wrestlers, Okada stated that he hopes that they become more famous, so it creates buzz around NJPW.
Okada also talked about the Wrestle Kingdom 11 event and more. You can read the entire interview here.
