Lucha Underground talent is said to be really concerned about the future of the company. As of today, there has been nothing said about future TV taping dates and it’s been a full year since their last tapings. Everything will depend on if the owners want to invest more money on a promotion that is likely not going to turn a profit anytime soon.
A while back, there was talk of taping in November and then that talk shifted to January but nothing has been announced and the talent and people working in production have not been told anything.
A lot of the talent has been unhappy about being kept in the dark with some of them have been asking questions and not getting answers. It’s tough on them because they are locked into long-term contracts that won’t let them negotiate full-time deals with other companies. WWE won’t touch anyone that is under a Lucha Underground contract. One would think that, at some point, those contracts would not be enforceable because you can’t force people to sit at home and not get paid.
