Legendary boxer Mike Tyson will no longer be part of The Roast of Ric Flair on July 29th in Nashville, TN. Shortly after it was announced he would be there, TMZ updated their post by noting that Tyson has pulled out of the event and provided a statement from Tyson’s rep:
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Mike will not be participating in the roast.”
Other names previously confirmed to be part of the roast include Diamond Dallas Page and Eric Bischoff. TMZ did state in the original report that more names from the celebrity and wrestling world are expected to be involved.
Tyson and Flair have formed a friendship over the years and recently became business partners as Tyson’s cannabis company, Tyson 2.0, joined up with Flair’s new marijuana venture to sell “Ric Flair Drip” products.
In addition to this roast, Starrcast V will have several panels, meet and greets as well as Flair working his last match on Sunday, July 31 with the belief that Flair will team with FTR to take on The Rock N’ Roll Express and a mystery partner. It’s being run under the Jim Crockett Promotions banner and tickets for the match quickly sold out.
