Major League Wrestling today announced a major change to Battle RIOT VIII:
the MLW World Heavyweight Championship will be defended inside the Battle RIOT match itself.
The reigning MLW World Heavyweight Champion Mads Krule Krugger will put the league’s ultimate prize on the line in MLW’s signature 40-wrestler extravaganza on Thursday, January 29 at the Osceola Heritage Park Events Center in Kissimmee, Florida.

After MLW posed the question to fans, “Should the MLW World Championship be on the line in this year’s Battle RIOT?” the response was overwhelming. Across MLW’s Instagram, Facebook, and X social media channels, fans delivered a landslide verdict: put the title on the line.
This marks only the second time in history that the Battle RIOT will be contested for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship, following last year’s smash-hit RIOT in Los Angeles. Now, the stakes are even higher as Kissimmee prepares to host a 40-wrestler extravaganza with MLW’s top prize hanging in the balance.
The Battle RIOT is unlike any match in the sport. Two competitors start the fight. Every 60 seconds, a new wrestler enters. Eliminations occur by pinfall, submission, or being thrown over the top rope with both feet hitting the floor. There are no disqualifications — meaning weapons are legal, alliances are fleeting, and chaos is guaranteed. The last competitor standing will leave with the MLW World Heavyweight Championship.
Standing in the center of it all is the towering, 7-foot champion, Mads Krule Krugger — a force who has crushed everyone placed in his path. But with 39 challengers entering at timed intervals, danger can come from any direction at any moment.
Will Krugger continue his reign of dominance… or will Battle RIOT VIII crown a new World Heavyweight Champion?
On January 29 in Kissimmee, history will be written when the RIOT erupts and the MLW World Title hangs in the balance.
