Wrestling fans were treated to a nostalgic sight on Saturday as legendary commentators Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler reunited for a public appearance. The duo, widely regarded as the voices of the Attitude Era, appeared together at an event for Ultimate Stars Promotions in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Ross took to Twitter to share a photo of the reunion, showing both Hall of Famers smiling alongside fans. Despite the cold winter weather in Pittsburgh, Ross noted that the event was lively.
“It’s chilly in Pittsburgh but we’re hot ahere until 2 EST,” Ross wrote.
The reunion comes on the heels of recent comments from Ross about the possibility of the two calling matches together again. During an interview on Busted Open Radio with Tommy Dreamer, Ross was asked about Lawler’s potential appearance in AEW, possibly for a show in Memphis. Ross shared his openness to the idea but clarified that any reunion would likely be a one-time occurrence rather than a full-time return for Lawler.
Lawler has limited his public appearances in recent years following serious health issues, making this reunion in Pittsburgh a rare treat for fans. Ross is expected to be on the call for AEW’s next PPV event, Worlds End, which takes place on Saturday, December 27, at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.
