“Nature Boy” Ric Flair accompanied Andrade to the ring at Triplemania XXIX on Saturday night and the Hall Of Famer was not just there to be a spectator.
There was a spot in the match where Flair got in the ring and stopped Omega from hitting Andrade with the AAA Mega Championship belt. That was followed up by both Flair and Andrade trading chops on Omega’s chest. Flair followed up by chop blocking Konnan and then applying the figure four on him while Andrade did the same to Omega.
Omega was able to retain the title after pinning Andrade after hitting the One Winged Angel onto the title belt.
Flair was released by WWE (Flair says he asked for it and it was granted) on August 3. Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Flair is a lock for AEW once he is legally able to sign with them.
Meltzer also stated that Andrade has been telling people that he wants the whole family with him in AEW and that includes Charlotte Flair.
