Sting’s Son Steven Borden Wins First Singles Match In Pro Wrestling Debut

Steven Borden, the son of wrestling legend Sting, has secured his first victory in singles competition. Borden made his independent singles debut on Friday night at DEFY AEON 2 at Washington Hall in Seattle, defeating fellow Darby Allin trainee Kieran Gray. The match was well-received by the live audience, who chanted “please come back” after the bell rang.

This victory follows Borden’s in-ring debut in October, where he teamed with JD Drake to face Darby Allin and Killer Kross at a unique art exhibition in New York City. That event, “Hardway,” was curated by artists Raymond Pettibon and Charlie Ramone. Borden has been training under Allin, who recently spoke about Borden’s ceiling in the industry during an Ariel Helwani interview.

Allin said: “As far as he wants to take it — as far as he wants to take it.”

Borden first caught the wrestling world’s attention at AEW Revolution 2024 during his father’s retirement match. He appeared dressed as “Wolfpac” Sting, while his brother Garrett donned the “Surfer” Sting persona. In that bout, Sting and Allin defeated The Young Bucks to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championships, allowing “The Icon” to retire as an undefeated champion.

Following the match at DEFY AEON 2, Gray attacked Borden, sparking a post-match beatdown that further endeared Borden to the crowd. While no future dates have been officially confirmed, the positive reception suggests Borden may become a regular fixture on the Pacific Northwest independent scene.
