Terry Funk is doing fine and he is alive and well back in Texas. As noted on Saturday night, Funk had to leave early from the House Of Hardcore show in Philadelphia because he was feeling dizzy. He also was not moving around too well as he got in the ring to give a speech to the fans. He told them that it might be his last time at 2300/ECW Arena. Obviously, there was a lot of concern but it appears that all is well.
Dave Meltzer, who has been friends with Funk for over 30 years, provided an update on Monday afternoon. Funk underwent inguinal hernia surgery on 9/12 and was advised by doctors to stay home and rest for a couple of weeks. Funk, being the tough SOB that he is, didn’t want to miss his scheduled bookings for House Of Hardcore in NY and Philly so he got up at 4am on Friday and flew into New York City for the HOH show in St. James. He then drove to Philly and didn’t get to sleep until 4am.
Funk signed autographs on Saturday prior to HOH but was exhausted by the time the show started and asked Dreamer if he could leave early. Funk was scheduled to be Dreamer’s cornerman in the main event.
