Ricochet, who wrestles as Prince Puma in Lucha Underground, has reportedly opted out of his contract with Lucha Underground, according to PW Torch.
Lucha Underground filmed season three of the show over the summer in Los Angeles, and Ricochet will be featured on the season, which premieres on Wednesday night on the El Rey Network. Once season 3 is complete, Ricochet will be able to appear on other promotion’s television shows.
Ricochet noted during an interview with Highspots, “Future of Flight,” that he plans to slow down through the end of the year and take a lighter schedule to let his body heal. Ricochet is now taking select independent bookings, which includes working for EVOLVE. He will be wrestling at the EVOLVE events on September 11, November 13 in Joppa, Md., and December 11 in Melrose, Mass.
The Wrestling Observer has been reporting for months that Ricochet is eventually headed to WWE. He’s expected there by early 2017.
