Earlier this month, a highly disturbing incident occurred during Lucha Memes and Lucha Libre Boom’s “Rumores Blasfoemos” event on +LuchaTV. Wrestler Demonio tossed a concrete block at opponent El Cuervo de Puerto Rico’s head outside the ring. Cuervo was rendered unconscious as a result but quickly woke back up after being hit.
Demonio apparently tossed the block at Cuervo as a receipt for some hard chair shots earlier in the match. If you haven’t seen the video, you can see it here:
On the +Lucha stream of the LLB/Lucha Memes show, Angel o Demonio threw a brick at the back of Cuervo (of Puerto Rico)'s head when he clearly had no idea it was coming. Cuervo was knocked out, regained consciousness quickly after. pic.twitter.com/uCrP2EntjC

Cuervo had to undergo successful surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain as a result of the incident. As a result of the incident, Demonio was indefinitely suspended by Mexico’s Boxing and Wrestling Commission. In an update, Cuervo has now been released from the hospital since his brain surgery. Here’s the translated message from his Facebook page:
“GOD THANK YOU! The Raven of Puerto Rico was discharged from the hospital. In the image we can see him accompanied by his manager Víctor Arroyo and part of associated promoters of Mexico (PALL). Thank you all for the prayers and good vibes. Family, fanatics and fighters … THERE IS ROCK OF PUERTO RICO FOR RATO!”
