WCW's Lash LeRoux talks about his alarming weight gain, followed by his big weight loss

Former WCW star Lash LeRoux was on the "Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling" podcast this week, where he said he got up to 318 pounds a few years ago.

“I think I hit a turning point at around 40 (years old). I retired early, way earlier than I should have," he said. "I retired around 2010 from wrestling."

"When I turned 40 around 2016, I was 318 pounds. I had a 44 inch waist. I was taking a lot of medication to cover up some back injuries. It was uncomfortable and unhealthy. If you look at a picture of me back then at 318 pounds, I look like Lash ate Lash."

"I thought to myself that this is not sustainable. I decided to start losing some weight. All I did was start watching what I was eating a little bit more. I started becoming a little more strict. I started stretching and getting my flexibility back."

"It took me about a year in a half, and in a year and a half, I lost about 100 pounds. I went from about 316 down to about 216. Then I started going back to the gym again. I fell in love with working out again. I’m leaner now at 228 pounds, which is roughly what I stay around, than I was when I wrestled. I’m in the best shape of my life. I’m happier than I’ve ever been. “
