Bobby Fish spoke to USA Today to promote ROH’s Manhattan Mayhem event. During the interview, he was asked about carrying Ring of Honor. He said that when he first started with the company in 2004, no one thought he would be the guy who would be the ROH World Champion. “I think in my time with Ring of Honor, and in New Japan for the last three to four years, I’ve proven that I’m much more than that. I can carry a company, and I can be the man, but somebody has to pull that trigger.” He said that people have been reluctant to pull that trigger and that he is the guy who was never supposed to be here. He vowed to win the ROH Title against Adam Cole at the Manhattan Mayhem event.
When asked about his former tag team partner Kyle O’Reilly leaving ROH, he said that they’ve always been in contact about every move that they have made together. He said that he, O’Reily, and George Carroll operated as a trio. He said that he wasn’t surprised that O’Reily departed from the company and understood why.
