Bully Ray has found himself on the free agent market as he’s no longer under contract with ROH.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the contract of the wrestling veteran with Ring of Honor has expired and “he wasn’t given an offer for a new deal because ROH isn’t offering people new deals right now.”
Per the report, although the promotion likes him, any wrestlers whose deals are up are not getting new offers right now except for Danhausen. The promotion recently had to nix plans of running empty arena shows to tape future episodes of their weekly television show.
The belief is that once ROH starts running shows again, things might change regarding Ray’s status. The promotion also has an interest in the likes of Alex Zayn, who started with the promotion at the same time that the pandemic hit, as well as Tony Deppen.
Although Ray is no longer under contract with ROH, he still works on the popular Busted Open radio show on SiriusXM.
The former WWE star had joined Ring of Honor in 2017 after departing from WWE. His last match came back in February when he beat Caprice Coleman in a singles match at the ROH Gateway To Honor TV event.
