Ring Of Honor (ROH) star Christopher Daniels was recently interviewed by GiveMeSport to talk about ROH and New Japan Pro Wrestling’s (NJPW) Madison Square Garden show next year.
During their conversation, Daniels discussed working with former WWE Intercontinental Champion and current ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champion Cody Rhodes.
Rhodes defeated Daniels back at 2016’s Best In The World pay-per-view (PPV) to win the ROH World Heavyweight Championship. Daniels said that he has had nothing but good working experiences with Rhodes, and praised him for pioneering throughout the professional wrestling industry without the WWE:
“I’ve had nothing but good experiences working with Cody [Rhodes]. He’s pioneering, he’s making his own way in professional wrestling and he’s one of the best examples of going outside of the WWE and finding success.
“It’s great to see that happening for him. I was a big fan of his work when he was in the WWE and to see the change from the ‘Dashing’ Cody Rhodes, Stardust to what he is now, it’s pretty cool to know that he bet on himself and now is succeeding in a way a lot of people want in their own career – it’s cool to know that he is making it happen.”
Rhodes truly is pioneering through pro wrestling without WWE. He and The Young Bucks are set to hold their self-funded “All In” event from the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Illinois on September 1st. The event sold out in under an hour, as the arena holds over 10,000 fans.
