CM Punk reacts to Joey Ryan dismissing lawsuit against former ROH wrestler

Joey Ryan took to Twitter to note that he has decided to dismiss his defamation lawsuit against former ROH star Pelle Primeau.

The former Impact Wrestling star filed the multi-million dollar lawsuit last year after “#SpeakingOut” allegations were made against him. Back in December, Primeau had filed to dismiss the lawsuit, but Ryan opposed it.

Earlier this week, Ryan issued a statement to address various things such as his lawsuits, mental health, and a charity event that was supposed to feature his retirement match.

In that statement, he noted that he hadn’t made a decision yet regarding the Primeau lawsuit yet. However, he has made the call and has already dismissed it. He wrote the following:

“I’ve filed to dismiss the Pennsylvania lawsuit too. We’re all struggling with mental health, myself included. Him and I will never agree as to the events in 2013 but I could be more sympathetic. I went through something similar in 2018 and understand his pain. Hebrews 10:24.”

CM Punk saw Ryan’s tweet and made it clear that he wanted Ryan to dismiss it with prejudice, which would mean that Ryan can no longer pursue a lawsuit against the independent wrestler as long as the statute of limitations have not expired.

It should be noted that Punk helped train Primeau before the indy star broke into the business in 2005.
