Cody Rhodes set to undergo knee surgery after Wrestle Kingdom 13

As we’ve noted recently, Ring Of Honor star and soon-to-be free agent Cody Rhodes has been dealing with a knee injury. Last weekend, Cody said he heard a “pop” in his knee while teasing a t-shirt toss at an ROH show. As a result, Cody missed his scheduled WGP United States Championship defense against Beretta at ROH Global Wars: Toronto.

Cody soon sought medical advice, and it was determined that his  MCL, PCL, and ACL were all structurally sound. Thankfully, he has avoided a serious injury:

“GOOD news is my doctor is fairly confident that my mcl/pcl/acl are structurally sound. BAD news is the meniscus is fairly damaged, gonna’ require a scope. No dates will be adjusted at the moment, and I’ll definitely still compete in the final battle main event & at WK.”

F4WOnline has provided an update on the situation, revealing Rhodes will undergo surgery on his knee after Wrestle Kingdom 13, on January 4th. He will have to sit out for six weeks as a result. Rhodes is planning on rehabbing his knee until December 14th when he faces Jay Lethal at “Final Battle” for the ROH World Title.
