Former World Champion Matt Taven is staying with Ring of Honor as he’s signed a new deal with the promotion.
Taven announced the news while cutting a promo alongside his Kingdom stablemates (Vinny Marseglia and TK O’Ryan) on Saturday night at the TV tapings in Las Vegas, Nevada at Sam’s Town Casino.
This comes after Taven’s contract with ROH had been set to expire at the end of this month.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Taven’s new contract basically starts out as double the money a top talent in NXT is getting paid then it escalates to triple the amount of money of a top star in NXT.
In his promo, he put over the company and talent before saying that his story in the promotion isn’t done yet.
Taven’s World Title reign began back in April when he beat Jay Lethal and Marty Scurll in a ladder match at G1 Supercard at Madison Square Garden. He lost the title to Rush in the main event of Death Before Dishonor on Friday night.
