Jeff Cobb is one of the fastest rising stars in professional wrestling today. After his career as an amateur wrestler, Cobb began working in the business of professional wrestling in 2009. The Hawaiian signed with Lucha Underground back in 2015 where he worked under the name “The Monster” for three years.
In addition to his work for Lucha Underground, Cobb has also worked for promotions such as Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), Progress Wrestling, and New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). Over the summer, Cobb signed with Ring Of Honor and made his in-ring debut for the promotion in style.
He defeated Punishment Martinez for the ROH World Television Championship in his first match with ROH. Martinez was on his way to WWE, as he now trains at their Performance Center in Orlando and is a member of the NXT roster. Now, Cobb is preparing to defend his title tomorrow night at ROH Final Battle against Adam Page.
Cobb spoke to ROH’s website for their “ROH 10 Questions” segment. When asked to explain his decision to sign with ROH, here’s what Cobb had to say:
“I’ve always seen ROH and the quality of wrestlers that have come through there. There is such a rich history of amazing performers and talent that can’t be denied. Also, the relationship with New Japan didn’t hurt either.”
