Jeff Cobb has had a tremendous rise in the professional wrestling industry. Cobb, a former Olympian who has shared the mat with the likes of Cuban UFC star Yoel Romero, is currently the Ring Of Honor Television Champion. He began his journey in the business back in 2009.
In 2015 Cobb started a three-year stint with Lucha Underground. While with the promotion, he won their World Championship in his first match performing as a masked character named “The Monster” Matanza Cueto. Cobb has worked for other promotions such as Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Progress Wrestling, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and, of course, ROH.
Back in October, Cobb won the ROH TV Title from Punishment Martinez at a TV taping before Martinez departed for WWE. Cobb is really emerging as a top star while under the ROH banner. Speaking to WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross on his “Ross Report” podcast, Cobb said he sees himself with ROH for the “foreseeable future”:
“My time at Ring Of Honor has been fantastic! Every taping that I’ve done, every live show, live event, that I’ve done, every pay-per-view that I’ve made an appearance in, I’ve had a blast. Like, all the dudes in the back are great, from the top to the bottom, everybody has just been awesome.
“Like, the staff [has] been cool, the booker’s cool, [ROH COO] Joe Koff has been super nice to me. It [has] been a great time back there and I’ll be with Ring Of Honor for the foreseeable future.”
